I think is very important to know the literary terms because it helps the author “communicate” to their readers. In addition, how the way a work is written and the pattern of the work helps identify what type of literature it is for example, an essay, poem, play etc. Particular words help a reader imagine a place, time, or setting by the way the author intentionally wants it said. For instance, the style, tone or the way a work is dictated is important because it describes action and creates settings. The way an author uses style can identify him or her from other authors. A work can be humorous to hateful depending on the tone of work. Words can actually become symbols in literature, which help communicate thoughts through imagery with sounds and feelings. Authors are artists and the choices of words are important to express each individual’s ideas.
